It's been a great season so far overall.......four teams were still alive for the two AL Wild Card spots going into the last weekend, and on the morning of the last day of the season we still didn't know if the Giants would win their division outright without going past 162 games......etc. .
After the shortened 2020 Season, MLB needed the shot in the arm of a full, highly competitive season .
Only thing better would have been the Giants and Dodgers in a 7 game series for the right to go to the world series. I am not trying to slight the Braves. But next year it could again be the Giants and Dodgers at the top of the NL and one will have to play a wild card game and play the team with the best record for the right to move on. The rules need to change.
Am really shocked that Gabe Kapler is so low on the betting odds for Manager of the Year. He took a team that was really not suppose to win anything and had the best record in baseball.
I still think about Dusty's mistakes in the 2002 World Series, and I sort of scratched my chin when Astros owner Jim Crane hired Dusty/had him hired, but I now think Dusty has been a stabilizing influence, and has been good for the Astros as a team.

The Braves were w/o 3 of their top 5 players all year, and we just got our catcher back a month ago.
If we can get these players back on the field for 2022, the Braves will win 100+ games next year, & challenge both Cali teams for the best record in the NL. The Dodgers have had their share of injuries too.
To those who say every team has injuries, get over it, and that is not an excuse, how many teams lose their #1 hurler (Mike Soroka), perhaps the best player in the MLB (Rondald Acuna), and & MVP 6th highest vote getter in Marcel Ozuna.
Giants lost Gausman, but what if they also lost Posey and Crawford, do they still win 100+ games?

From a few remarks from the brass, the Giants want to exercise Posey's 2022 option, and go beyond that if Posey wants that. I would think the issue would be if Posey wants to continue playing or not.. They want to resign Crawford, and I think Crawford's age may help keep the Giants be competitive re Crawford.
What I can't get over is how San Francisco just suddenly have everything click at once this season. They weren't even supposed to contend. These Giants essentially just replaced a supposedly-up-and-coming San Diego Padres team that was expected to upend the Dodgers and advance to the postseason.
It was an amazing season, one where at the start they were predicted to win only 73 games. They were supposed to be a sub-.500 team. To finish with 107 wins and a .660 percentage is incredible.
