After the end of today 9/13's games for the four....wow...what a race for that final third Wild Card spot in the NL....only 1/2 game separating all four teams....the Diamondbacks and the Reds both at 76-71, anf the Giants and the Marlins both at 75-71.
Tomorrow the Giants play the last game of the day....by 4 1/2 hours over any of the other three.
By the time the Giants play tomorrow, they'll know the current day's outcomes for the others.
The Giants were, by a few percentage points ahead of the other three teams for the last wild card. Then, in the next three games ending 9/16, they lost all three, while the other three teams each won two in a row.
Giants are now 2 1/2 back re the third Wild Card slot.
Well, they’re now officially a sub-.500 team. Of Kapler’s tenure, 4 seasons, they were at or below .500 for 3 of them. Of course, there’s the great 2021 season where they won 107 games but I attribute that more to Buster Posey’s leadership than to Kapler’s.

Also, IMO, Kapler's lack of overall success generates appreciation for Bochy .
Unfortunately for the AL West, he didn't stay retired and is now in Arlington....new stadium, and then a new manager.
No one can take the 3 titles in 5 seasons away from us . I've been looking on eBay for an 'all three titles cap'. No such animal seems to exist....T-shirts yes, caps no.
I may have one made ....and have an A's '72, '73, '74, and '89 one made as well (I went to every A's postseason game in Oakland through 1975).

I don't know about Bellinger. How do you go from an MVP to 3 years in a row struggling to hit .200 then back to an all star level last year? What will he do once he has a long term contract? Last time he struggled to hit .200 3 years in a row.
