I still need to figure out what hours Putsch's cafe opened each day and if Cricket West was still there.

Thank you!
No idea. I’d contact the Plaza Merchant’s Association.

In 1973 my older brother and his buddy took their prom dates to dinner at Putsch's after the Prom. I think he carried about $70 with him that night in case it would be that much for he and his date eat there.

I went to prom in 1971, and we went (3 or 4 couples) to Putsch’s 210. They were pushing some non alcoholic champagne with no mention of price. We had several bottles, and when the bill came I know the guys were all saying “Oh s****” because it was a lot more than whatever they expected. Someone must have had the money because we didn’t have to wash dishes.

Life lesson learned that night, although I temporarily forgot it once in Las Vegas where we got soaked with $8 bottled water at Caesar’s Palace.

Yeah, I forgot that's how everyone said it , it was always "Putsch's 210" I never knew what the 210 stood for.

Was there another Putsch's with a different address? There was trend that started around that time all over with establishments foregoing a formal name and using their address at the name.

Putsch's 210 had that name since it opened, which I believe was in the 1950s.

It was the fancy member of a trio of Putsch family restaurants on the Plaza. In the middle was Putsch's Cafeteria, located around the corner from and right behind 210 at 4640 Wornall Road. And Putsch's Coffee House occupied a one-story building across 47th Street from these, at the SE corner of 47th and Broadway, on the north side of that underground garage whose top level is on the surface.

Following myself up because the editing window expired before I posted my edit, below:

Looking at the aerial Google map of the Plaza, I see that (a) Parachute Home occupies the former Coffee House space while a café with an outdoor terrace called The Classic Cup now occupies the east end of that building (b) several other buildings have been added to the Central Parking Garage block that now shield the surface level parking from the streets around it, most notably a large building with three retail tenants on the west side of that plot.

The space that was Putsch's Cafeteria was vacant in 2019, when the Google cameras went along the Wornall Road sidewalk, and there's a Fogo de Chão where Putsch's 210 used to be.

To muddy the waters further, Putsch’s 210 morphed into a slightly more casual concept, Mr.Putsch’s, probably about 1975 or so.

So, on 47th and Wornall right behind the Neptune Fountain (down and up the staircase) there is now one of those virtual kitchens and Buca di Bepo.

Does anyone know what was in those buildings, if anything, in 1977?

I didn't realize the tower wasn't built on the Triangle Building until the 1990s, so I almost fouled that up.

I am going to check in with the Plaza Merchants Association to see if they have any historical records or memories.

I love hearing about it first hand here though and that it is bringing up memories for everyone.
