What would their motive be to go to Mexico? Running from what? Surprised nothing else has been found in their backgrounds, but maybe detectives know more than they can say.

I think there is more to the story. The brother said he was comfortable with the investigation and the conclusion the family left on their own free will. I'd say there is more to it but they are not obligated to go into details.

this is probably the most fascinating case of missing persons i have came across in a LONG time. really spooky. none of it makes sense. either the whole family was killed or one of the family members went nuts- but why? toys in the back seat of the car.....and where are the children?

I have wondered about this family many times. The article says it was definitely a matter of homicide if I read correctly.

I wonder how on earth anyone would piece together what happened after all this time. Sickening to think someone murdered this family and evidently - is going to get away with it.

How sad, I had hoped that they ran away, such a strange case.

I'd hoped this family would be found alive and well.

Oddly similar to the missing Jamison family of 3 missing since 2009, from Oklahoma and thought to be alive in Mexico. A bowl of popcorn found on the sofa.

Very strange and sad. I sure hope they find whoever did this.
