I saw this recently on Disappeared, the show, and it is some case. I don't have a link right here, but mother/father/2 boys went off one day and no word from any of them.

Popcorn in bowls left on the sofa, car found near a Toys or Us store. Toys in abondoned car.

Video tape of the 4 (possibly) crossing the Mexican border on foot, late at night. They found on the hard drive inquiries about passports/Mexico.

Family says wife dissliked Mexico, no criminal background of any kind for either spouse, no underworld connections and 100,000 left in joint bank account.

I saw this episode last Saturday. Wow, it sure is a mystery! I say they went shopping, then on a whim went over to Mexico. Why? Newly purchased toys in the car, and the family they showed on the camera did not seem to be in distess while they were walking across the border (if you believe the family is them). So, I say something happened to them in Mexico. Good luck getting any information or help from the police or government there. :-(

Going to Mexico ain't like it used to be...I think that the Yucatan is still okay, but no border towns. That is strange, a whole family...

I saw this thread and tried to find more information on the case.
I really found this a very odd thing to say coming from the father of the missing man. It doesn't sound as though dad feels he's son's in danger, just 'surfing'. Would you be saying something like that if you felt your child were kidnapped or dead?

Missing California family could be here, father says

"A California family of four vanished in February, and the husband’s father said Thursday that he thinks the family may be in Costa Rica. “My son Joseph is an avid surfer and would never be able to not surf,’ said Patrick McStay via e-mail. “I say this because I’m aware that Costa Rica has an avid amount of American Surfers that live and travel there to surf..."

I also saw the show, Disappeared about this family. I don't think it is them going across the border of Mexico. Didn't they say something about the neighbor having a video camera outside their home? I would investigate the neighbor. But it's all so odd about what happened to them. No way are they in Costa Rica because why not take their money? I think they were meet with foul play and none of them are living anymore.

Very bizarre case, their poor dog was also left home unattended.
I don't think they are alive because no one they know has been in contact with them, unless they uncover something about them that would make them vanish into thin air I think they met with foul play.

I doubt it if they are alive. Why would anyone want to harm them ? We do live in a sick world.

I have to say I dont think any of them are alive anymore and if they are ?, why have they not contacted the husbands dad ? because they are all dead and buried that is why and they met with foul play somewhere would be my guess .
