It will be interesting (to me) to see what happens with the Astros payroll next year relative to the Giants and other teams.

2021 is the last year of the contracts of both Grienke and Verlander.

Re-signing Correa? I doubt Astros owner Jim Crane will open up his checkbook to that degree. One commentator said yesterday that he thinks Correa’s free agent contract might end up being over $400 million.

The Mets and Padres might be the biggest busts for what they spent, at #3 and #8. Also I have no clue what the heck the Padres were stupidly thinking, signing a declining pitcher like Jake Arrieta.

The ones that appear to be off by a million…….I just took off all of the dollars from the hundred thousands slot to single digit pennies, and you rounded up to the next million.
I followed the generally-accepted rounding rules: 0-4, round down; 5-9 round up.

We couldn’t have asked, without extra innings in the last game, for anything closer.

Thanks to the Giants organization for giving us (the fans) a thrilling season .

I hope the Braves sweep the Dodgers in the NLCS.

At least, even with a better record (because the Giants won the division ), the Dodgers won’t have home field advantage in the NLCS.

It's been a great season so far overall.......four teams were still alive for the two AL Wild Card spots going into the last weekend, and on the morning of the last day of the season we still didn't know if the Giants would win their division outright without going past 162 games......etc. .

After the shortened 2020 Season, MLB needed the shot in the arm of a full, highly competitive season .
